As
always, a great stay. This is our 4th year in a row and our 4th
different room. Each room has been
spectacular. The decor is always appealing and the views
awesome. The ultimate in relaxation! Enjoyed an excellent dinner at
North Banks Restaurant, too. Thanks
for the champagne!! Happy Birthday to me!!
Love it here!!! Thanks again and see
you next year...

My
wife found the Inn on the internet for a getaway for our 16th anniversary.
We arrived late Friday nite and our made-to-order weekend began with
the famous sunset over the Sound. Then it began to rain after we got
in our room. The rain on the roof vents made for a special ambience
and we awoke to sunshine. We took our
4-wheel drive on the beach to Carova, saw wild horses, petted a local
donkey, and conversed with some very friendly locals. We
rushed back to our room just in time to witness one of the most spectacular
sunsets we have ever seen. Got great pictures to
show kids and friends. Made some lifetime memories. Thanks
for a great hard-working friendly staff (and room #36 is magnificent).

Friends
of ours have stayed here and told us of the Inn. We
arrived kinda late Friday after hours of driving only to meet the very friendly
staff of the Inn; Spent a lovely (quiet) evening with complimentary
champagne
in the jacuzzi. (The fireplace was nice too!) Our
room overlooks the pier and gazebo and the setting sun was absolutely beautiful!
(If the sky is clear you can see beautiful stars (big dipper)
through the round window.) Our
days were spent driving (north) on the beach looking for the wild ponies or
south (down to Oregon Inlet) Our evenings were spent
dining locally. we really enjoyed Elizabeth's, the atmosphere,
food and service were great. Our room was quiet and
secluded, I don't think we could have chosen a better place
to begin our life together as husband and wife.

Birthday Weekend
Our group of four busy
families came together to celebrate my dad's birthday.
I came early to recon the area and get information, my check in was extremely
informative. We spent the afternoon on the beach, that was convenient to the INN. Our family had rooms 34 and 39, they were so spacious and comfortable for our family of four.
My room #39 was the best out of the four.
I even had wine chilling in my refer, BONUS POINT!!!! We even had these cute chairs outside our
room, that I took advantage of everyday for reading! The beds in our rooms were so comfortable.
We would have been happy just enjoying our room the whole
weekend. It is hard to please everyone in a large group but I can honestly say everyone wanted to stay longer.
We were all refreshed and rejuvenated.
We can't wait to see you all next year!!!!!

Thanksgiving at the Inn
Well we decided since the kids are all gone this year for the first time to take some time for ourselves and ventured to the OBX for the Thanksgiving
holiday. What a magical experience, Corolla is absolutely breathtaking in the fall and the crisp breezes and foliage was the perfect setting for the most
romantic, relaxing three days we have spent in years. Many thanks to Carolyn and our new family at the Inn... see you in the summer!!
Love Bob and Arlene, Vienna VA

We stayed in rooms 44 and 24. 44 gorgeously overlooks the sound and has a walkout to a semi-private deck, with a whirlpool tub that could fit 3 people. We
didn't try 3, just 2. Room 24 was a little less expensive, and didn't have a view of the sound but, well made up for it with it's cozy chair for reading,
breakfast table and kitchenette, as well as the most
comfortable, huge king size bed you could ask for. Locally
there was plenty of sporting events to participate in. Kayaking, hiking, swimming, volleyball, tennis, etc...
Carolyn was a wonderful hostess and the staff was friendly and professional.
The Inn is definitely a must for a true Outer Banks experience!

Spent 3 nights at the Inn and touring the OBX. Less than perfect weather; however the accommodations, hospitality, videos and dinner recommendations all
were outstanding and made the three days at Corolla memorable. Look forward to returning.

My husband and I spent one gorgeous week in June at the Inn for our honeymoon, and we'll never forget it. I hope that we can make it back
someday. We loved the accommodations, the activities, and the staff. Thank you for shaping our memories!
Sincerely,
Abigail Sanford-Clapp

We found The Inn on the Internet and decided to give it a try. It was, without a doubt, the most satisfying experience we've had on the Outer Banks after
visiting for many years. Lots to do, lovely staff...we'll be back!

My wife and I spent our first anniversary at the Inn and let me tell you, the room and staff made our stay that much more memorable. Can't wait until next
year :-). Best spot for getaways on the Outer Banks.
Jeff & Erika Beshore

I found The Inn while surfing the internet for a vacation spot at the Outer Banks. It seemed too good to be true, based on the comments from prior guests.
However, our experience from the first telephone call to the regretful departure after three nights was wonderful. I have two teen-age daughters. We
experienced several "firsts", from parasailing to yoga! Our room, #37 was fabulous, overlooking the pool and the sound. I had such a delightful time and hope
to return in the future. Thanks to the wonderful staff for a memorable time!

We just returned from three nights at the Inn. We had originally planned to stay two nights, but we were having so much fun we booked a third. It is such a
wonderful place to stay. It was so relaxing, the accomodations were outstanding (as well as the staff). We have recommended the Inn to our friends!
We are planning to visit in the fall (just the two us).
Thank you to all the employees for a wonderful "short" vacation!
Michael and Colleen

We have only been visiting the Outer Banks for the past few years but we enjoy the Corolla Light area very much. Out experience at the Inn has been very
enjoyable. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are always willing to assist with information on where to eat, what to see, and some local history. A tour
of the Whalehouse restoration effort is well worth the time for anyone interested in the history of the Outer Banks. We are planning to return in the fall
and again in the early summer.
The Inn is THE place to stay in Corolla. Everything is outstanding; the view, the rooms, the staff, and the location. A great place to stay for a weekend or
a week.
F. Deane Erwin

Its like being in heaven. The staff can't do enough for you. Room 36 is great!!!!!!!!! Spent two New Years here!!! So peaceful wish we never had to return to
the real world. Try room 36!!!!

There is no reason to go where a bike can't take you when in Corolla. We've been coming here for 11 years and here are some of our favorites:
Best Parts of The Beach:
If you have 4 wheel drive go to the Va/NC border walk over to Va. No cars, no people, sand dollars and nice shells, swimming with the dolphins and a clearly
visible shipwreck. Also check out the stretch between Penny's Hill and North Swan. It's wide, flat and undeveloped.
If you don't have 4 wheel drive bike to the most southern access in Ocean Hill and go to the right on the beach. This area has the fewest
people.
Best Take Out:
Steamers
Best Restaurants: Blue Point (our favorite anywhere), Sorrel's, Roadside in
Duck. Good simple food, nice wine list.
Best things for kids: Lighthouse, go-karts, night time beach walk with flashlights to find crabs
Best running route: From the Inn run south on the bike way to the sports center, cutback on the nature trail along the sound, run north until the trail ends, then cut through
the trail to rt. 12. Follow the sidewalk to the Whalehead Club. Run through the grounds over the bridge follow the road to the lighthouse parking area run
through there past the lighthouse and continue through the village, checkout the restoration of schoolhouse etc. make a right down the newly paved road back
to 12. Go past Winks and make a right on Coral to the Ocean Hill beach road, make a left and run past the
oceanfront houses to Tasmin. Go left over wooden walk way into the Villages of Ocean Hill. Make a left through the sub-division, run a few blocks then make a right back to 12, run along the road back
to the Inn.

When we decided to celebrate our anniversary on the Outer Banks, we searched the internet to find a spot that seemed special and romantic. We didn't intend
to go all the way up to Corolla but your web site kept popping up and it seemed to reflect the quality and charm we were looking for. We could not have been
any happier with our choice. Even though it was a cold weekend (what can you expect in January) the scenery was beautiful. We enjoyed walking out the dock
on the sound and strolling the grounds. The staff was wonderful and the room was perfect.
Thanks for the attention, amenities and for a special memory.
Bill and Lisa Godfrey, Cherry Hill NJ

Well we have to just let folks know what a special place this is. I lost my grandmother's earring, so sentimental and irreplaceable to me, on the pier and
everyone went out of their way to locate the tiny thing. Our visit was the happiest time we have had all year, the staff and the views simply cannot be beat.
Our room had such beautiful little touches that hotels usually forego. All we can say is WOW what a great experience and we will be back soon!
xoxo, Sunny and Rickster

I am known for my unique and special gifts and my husband's birthday was fast approaching - after several inquiries from friends in the area The Inn was
recommended - and what a recommendation it proved to be. We were greeted by name and our room was perfect - including a card for my husband and a bottle of
wine chilling. It went perfect with the dozen of roses I had for him. We had dinner at the Rundown Cafe and returned early to enjoy our room with its
beautiful view of the garden/pool and sky. The bed itself was wonderful...its the first time that I have ever slept away from home and actually slept through
the night!!! We hated to leave the next morning. Our plans are to return to the Moon Room on a full moon and catch its full effect - which would be
spectacular considering that the starlit night was a sight to behold.

My husband and i have visited The Inn several times and think of it as one of our "favorite spots." We live just an hour and half away, and find that it's
just far enough away to feel like we've gotten away. When we first started visiting the Inn we didn't have any children, we've since had a son and have found
everyone at the Inn VERY accomodating with our son....which you don't find everywhere. Just one more reason why the Inn is one of our "FAVORITE SPOTS."
Looking forward to many more wonderful visits in the future.

My husband, Chad, and I just returned from the most amazing five days at the Inn at Corolla Light. Our first visit to the inn was just over one year ago, and
this past Saturday (April 24, 1999) we were married on the bridge at the north side of the inn. We had 65 guests who all stayed at the inn with us, and it
truly could not have been more perfect. The staff at the inn is, without question, second to none. I thought that planning a long-distance wedding would be
nerve-wracking but quickly found that everyone was extremely helpful, supportive, and encouraging every step of the way. I especially have to mention
Carolyn. With her help, we were able to have a wedding celebration more perfect than we had ever dreamed. Everything was absolutely amazing, and Carolyn made
it all possible. The rest of the staff was fantastic as well from the office staff who handled our many calls and constant questions, to the housekeeping
staff who thoughtfully placed our "welcome bags" in all of the guests' rooms. We were all treated with unbelievable warmth and hospitality, and we will never
forget it! Our guests came from all over the country, and all felt that we could not have picked a better spot. A number of folks plan to visit again on
their own as soon as they can. Chad and I will most definitely be back to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, etc. The inn will always hold a most special
place in our hearts. If you are looking to have the most amazing vacation of your life, the Inn at Corolla Light and the inn staff can make it happen.
Enjoy!!

We spent our honeymoon in room 26 last September and couldn't wait to make our reservations to return for our first anniversary. The sunsets were incredible,
the horses beautiful and the staff fantastic. We were exhausted after planning our wedding and The Inn was the most peaceful place to get rejuvenated. We
really enjoyed the guest book in the room so we could get ideas on where to eat and what to do. And when we wanted to just stay in and relax, the movies from
the office were just the ticket.
Suzanne Anderson

My wife and I made reservations for the Inn after reading some of the comments posted here and surfing the Inn's web site. We ending up getting the "Moon
Room" although we didn't know it when we made the reservation. This room (#35) has a large round window in it and some regular sash windows below it.
We had a full moon the first night and it was simply spectacular. I happen to mention it to the owner the next day and he said that this room had been
nicknamed the Moon Room by the guests. He told me that sometimes the shadows will cast a heart on the ceiling.
Sure enough, that night there it was--a reflection of a heart on the ceiling. Wow!
My wife and I were on our anniversary and the Inn had thoughtfully provided Champagne for us on arrival. The staff made us feel right at home and very
relaxed. It was a perfect weekend and we can't wait to come back to the moon room.

The Inn at Corolla Light is a wonderful place to stay to get away from it all! Our room was spacious, private & romantic, overlooking the sound and beautiful
sunsets. Being guests of the Inn, you have full use of the amenities of the Corolla Light Resort (tennis, racquetball, indoor/ outdoor pools, etc.). The Inn
provides bicycles for your use which was great. We loved biking around Corolla to the Whalehead Club and Lighthouse areas. Other activities located right at
the Inn are waverunners, sailing, para- sailing, a pontoon boat, etc. The Owner and Staff of the Inn were very helpful and friendly. It was a wonderful place
to celebrate our anniversary. We highly recommend The Inn at Corolla Light for any occasion!

Our visit to the Inn has been the most relaxing time we've had all year, the beaches are beautiful down there and it's so quaint and pretty. We can't wait
until the fall, when we are going to plan another 'special getaway'! Thanks to Bob and all the staff for making us feel so special, see you in October!
Will and Elise

She said yes!!!
On our third trip to this wonderful inn, I proposed to Jennifer--and she said yes! The Inn and Corolla and Carova will
always be special to us and we look forward to coming back many times.
Jeff

Of course I said yes!
Of course I was going to say YES! Jeff and I had yet another wonderful time in Corolla! Having a bottle of DOM on the porch late in the afternoon was
wonderful! Can't wait to come back this fall!
Jennifer

Last year at this time we had headed out to what we had hoped to be a couple of special days to honeymoon--and not that they weren't special--but, the hotel
we selected did not turn out to be special; they handled the few special touches my husband has requested very poorly and we vowed to do better for our
anniversary. So, here we are a year later, for our first anniversary, hoping we've made a better choice this time, and, all I can say is....wow!!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very friendly and accommodating...from having roses and Champagne in our rooms to arranging dinner
reservations. The room, I told my husband had that special romantic feeling no matter which way you looked. We took advantage of the "2" person whirlpool,
the fireplace, and the availability to open the windows and the enjoy the outside sounds and tranquility.
Two days truly was not long enough--we never watched the movie (we had been dying to see), never rode the bikes (which I love to do), and never got to
explore the area the way we'd like.
So I guess that's means we'll have to come back!!!
Thanks for the wonderful time...
Dan and Sheri, Chesapeake VA

I grew up in northeastern NC and have gone to the Outer Banks all my life. When my husband and I discovered the Inn a few years ago, it was like heaven on
earth. We've been back several times through the years and love the quiet and comfort. We recently fulfilled a dream of buying a beach house (further down
the road in Duck), and one of the few drawbacks of that purchase is that we won't be going back to the Inn to stay. However, it's our favorite place on the
beach and we recommend it to all of our friends. ENJOY your trip to the Outer Banks and the Inn.

Tommy surprised me and planned our honeymoon at the Inn at Corolla Light. We couldn't have had a better stay anywhere in North Carolina. We enjoyed every minute we had there and we are very much looking forward to going back on our first anniversary. Thank you so much to the staff at the Inn and to everyone
who made this honeymoon a week to remember...
Sincerely,

What started off as just something to do ended up a romantic weekend retreat. So much to learn from and grow with. The lighthouses were beautiful, the sunsets, the staff and of course that wonderfully sweet dog. Irene, if your reading this...we had such an awesome time and will be sending you pictures real soon. You have a heart of gold and made our stay that much more enjoyable.
We were both just floored at the perfection of it all. The Hot Tub holds secrets we wouldn't dare
tell!! (laugh) What a wonderful trip. Food suggestions.. Go to the grocery store and buy goodies to grill out side by the pool. Don't forget the wine and cheese to enjoy
while the steaks are cooking. Too beautiful outside to be inside a restaurant.
Love Always,
Chris and Dan

Thanks for making our anniversary special. The Inn and staff are great. If you get the chance, be sure and have dinner at Elizabeth's. Great menu, wine list, and quite and
romantice. After dinner we came back and enjoyed the Inn's hot tub and a great sunset--complete with champagne.
One of the best three days we have ever spent together--can't wait to come back for Valentines Day!
Don and Christie

A beautiful place to relax and enjoy life. The staff is wonderful and so very friendly. I am looking forward to the day I return for another visit. This birthday trip made my day a very special and exciting one. Thank you for making this birthday a great one.

Just wanted to make a comment about our stay at the Inn. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. The inn was running a mid-week special and since we had some
free time, we came on down. It was a great getaway and well worth the price and a lot more besides. We both would recommend the inn and the Corolla area to anyone wishing to get away to a special place.
Peter & Mary

Fall on the Banks is definitely the time to go. We had the most awesome time at the Inn, the lighthouse is amazing and we had the best crabcakes of all time down at the Roadhouse in Duck.

I want to share
a relatively undiscovered area on the Outer Banks and a unique Inn located there. The area is Corolla and it's on the northern most part of the Outer Banks. The story goes that they didn't get their first hard-surface road until the 80's and the first (and only) grocery store until the 90's. The community consists mainly of upscale rental homes,
no fast food restaurants or usual tourist traps.
The Inn is called the Inn at Corolla Light and is located on the Sound within walking distance of the lighthouse. It's small & incredibly romantic. The sunsets were spectacular across the Sound. The rooms are really more like suites and ours had a kitchenette, king bed, and gas fireplace and very tastefully furnished. It's only been opened for a few years, so it's still a secret to most travelers.
We are definitely going back so tell them you heard about it on
the web and maybe they will give us a free room!
